Bowled Over - Dating Do's and Don'ts for This week

As you all know I am "The 2OceansVibe Bachelorette",
So I’m checking out the dating world and figuring out the good, the bad and the ugly.
In the last two weeks I have been traveling quite a bit so I went on two
"off the record" dates, but I still felt it wouldn't be fair if I didn't give you feed back on the do's and don'ts, so lets chat about...

Date 1: THE SOBER DATE
Oiy Vey!
Although my nerves where on overdrive at the thought of going on a date in the first place, (still haven't gotten them under wraps)
arriving at a bowling ally and finding out I would be proceeding without any Dutch courage to ease the nerves for the evening’s road ahead was quite a large gulp to swallow.
We were in the last lane and I think it was Pro-Practice evening because this is what our neighbors looked like...
My date was an ex-pro-bowler (Yip, he even belonged to a team ha ha, I know I laughed when I heard that too!) but he was very supportive and not a big show off
which made me feel more relaxed.
He made me feel like I looked like this...
When really, I looked like this...
Still I wish I looked like this....
but being the clumsy klutz I am I slipped and landed Slap Bam on my bum...
Yip, Epic Fail... not pretty....
but he made me feel like I looked like this....
Which isn't sooo bad and won him major points
and so we laughed it off and had a great time.
When I hit 7 he gave me a hi-5 and I did something like this...
Yip, thats me, total spaz.

Then taught me how to play 'Air Hockey', what fun!
Now here we got competitive and ended with an even score,
slightly sweaty and breathless from the thrill of the challenge,
it was great, I felt like a kid!
We ended the evening by sitting at a coffee shop and talking...
before I knew it, it was twenty to one in the morning and
I needed to head home as I had a big week ahead.
SO...
The DO's I learnt: "Get out of your comfort zone"
Do something fun out of your comfort zone, it forces people to be real and let down their defenses, you get to see layers of who they really are, rather than what they might want to present at a civilized dinner across a table.
and...
The DON'T I learnt: "Old fashioned meets Too cool"
I am kinda old fashioned in the dating world, yes I am career driven and independent but I am not that girl who call's a guy first or asks him out. I want to be with someone who is crazy about me, I want to be thought of, I want someone who makes an effort, effort goes a very long way in my books. So my advice guys, if you like a girl, don't play it cool, let her know.
This guy claims he has been wanting to date me for ages and that I am blind and uninterested in his advances, but really I think he wants me to chase him, and thats just not my game, I am a woman not a man, yes its old fashioned but men do the hunting...
in my romantic world anyway.
So to conclude, I had a great time, it was fun and as ridiculous as it sounds, I really recommend going bowling on a date, who knows, you could strike it lucky!

The Dare Devil Yardstick - 2 Oceans Vibe Bachelorette's 1st Date

For my first date as "The 2 Oceans Vibe Bachelorette"
I present to you - Jordan, The Dare Devil Yardstick!

No not the blond in the middle, the guy on the left of your screen, Sox is on the right.
(Not sure who the blond is but this is the only decent photo I could find of Jordan so I guess she's being featured in my blog by default ha ha haa!)
and below this is me... I wore a black Kimono by my sisters clothing line BiBi Rouge and skinny jeans, trying to keep warm and a little sexy... but not too sexy

http://www.facebook.com/pages/BiBi-Rouge-by-Sabrina-Kennedy/114810965286276

He was an absolute gentleman and insisted on picking me up, which I liked...
we went to The Greek Fisherman in the waterfront, it was delicious both of us chose
the same thing,  grilled line fish (which I guess showed common taste) and of course
we had some good red wine, Obvious.

We spoke easily and pretty constantly, the atmosphere was very relaxed,
which was great because I had been really nervous, it was my first date as
the 2 Oceans Vibe Bachelorette and I wanted it to go well

A really bad photo of The Yardstick and me taken by...
Our very excited and ready to serve waiter...

All in all I need to say a very big "Thank you!" to Jordan the Dare-Devil-Yardstick,
I had a great evening and realized that dating can be fun,
thanks to you i'm no longer scared of the dating game
;-)

The DO I learnt: "Chivalry is Not dead"
He was a gentleman, they may be hard to spot ladies but they are out there, I have proof, he took me on a date!
Men Chivalry is HOT!

The DON'T I learnt: "Don't wear stiletto heels to the Waterfront!"
(especially in winter, freezing sore feet are a no-no)
Ladies, ask where you are going on your date and wear the correct shoes, I am the clumsiest klutz at the best of times so whether Jordan liked it or not I hung onto him as I crossed the cobbled surface all the way to my seat at The Greek Fisherman and all the way back to the car... Ok, now that I think about it if he's super hot and you are looking for an excuse to gain balance, whip them six inches onto those toes ;-)

Write to me and share your best dating stories, worst night ever, most romantic, whatever you feel like sharing, if it moves me to laughter or tears I will post Your Story in my Blog.

"Sox invites Su to share the City" on 2 Oceans Vibe

Ok so as most of you now know, I have been having fun on the
2 Oceans Vibe Radio Station with DJSox on his show "Sox and the City"
every friday for the last 3 weeks, tomorrow will be my forth friday
on in a row and I am Loving it!
How did this happen you might ask?
Well, lets do a quick summery overview to get you up to speed...
My beautiful and brilliant BFF Bailey Schneider had recently joined
"2 Oceans Vibe" she came to check out the Cape Town Branch
and I met her there and took her into Studio to introduce her to my good
friend Sox, my intention was to say a quick "Hi" and make an introduction
but we all ended up chatting and having such a great time, girls VS Boys!
In fact we had soooooo much fun that our pop in visit lasted
an hour and a half, three quarters of the show!
Sox told me that his partner in crime Yaron the hairy Jew
was leaving him alone for 2 whole months ...
and invited me to join him as a stand in, I thought this was a great idea,
I mean I love a good chin wag and a challenge, so this is right up my ally...

... before I knew it I was Sox's much less hairy,
stand in "partner in crime"
We have an absolute party together, I think we compliment each other well,
 he's a boy's boy (I'm a tom boy turned woman
He likes to soulfully "sing" into the mike during songs
(well he call's it singing - but truthfully it sounds more like a drowning cat
having its intestines removed by jagged tweezers)
Kidding Soxie, you not that bad (not kidding, between you and me he is)
You Good Sox, you've got a great voice  (not)

And although I love singing in the shower, I know I sound worse than Sox,
so I keep it to myself... its just safer for his ears and he could leave the mike on by mistake... so basically its safer for everyone.... oiy vey, imagine that!
I have also found a really hot hairy guy...
aaahhhh Charles, he is so affectionate and loving...
loves to lick me from head to toe, I mean he
literally can't keep his paws off me... Grrrr love it!
Sox insists our relationship is doomed due to the fact that Charles's head is apparently stuffed with cotton instead of brains, but I'm hopeful... we'll have to see what happens, I'm going to stay positive (hold thumbs for me)
So if you haven't already, then don't forget to tune in to
2 Oceans Vibe Radio Station and catch me with DJSox on his show
